The Shabby Chick company manufacture a range of rustic interiors ranging from cushions, table runners, fabrics, banners and much more and each item is hand made and printed on site using traditional processes.

As a small start-up business, they wanted to use the web to both promote and sell their products, as well as run an active Blog.  Initially after consulting two web companies and being put off by the high price, they approached Mulberry Ecommerce who offered a competitive solution which they were happy with.

After a detailed discussion regarding their expectations and requirements for their website and the type of design and styling, we set to work on some prototype designs, which after some tweeking were agreed.

The site specification was as follows:

1. The website had to be fully managed by the client, so that they could add and amend content as and when required.  For this reason a Content Management System (CMS) was chosen as the base technology.  This would allow the client to add and amend content as and when required through the back office of the website
2. The style and design of the site had to be in keeping with the feel of the company, incorporating rustic tones and images in nature of the Shabby Chic style.  Mulberry Ecommerce undertook all the graphics creation and design work for the CMS Engine
3. The client also requried Ecommerce capability so that they could sell their products online as well as managing stock control, processing orders, product creation, product categories, promotions and special offers.  This was integrated into the CMS engine and adapted and styled to suit the clients requirements
4. A fully integrated Blogging system was also integrated into the CMS engine to allow the client to add, manage, categorise blogs.  The Blog system also includes a commenting system, RSS feed, Facebook and Twitter intergration, subscription and may other Blogging functions
5. Other requested features were Facebook Like integration, custom email forms for trade and customer enquiries and Nochex payment intergration
6. Future module capability has also been made for product sideshows, newsletter signup and other advertising features.
7. Google Analytics and Sitemap have been added together with SEO data
